Cleanup: Degenerate Geometry

Degenerate cleanup removes zero-area geometry and merges extremely close vertices. It’s optional because it can be slow on large meshes and can change topology.

Settings

  • Clean Degenerate Geometry: enable/disable.
  • Degenerate Distance: merge threshold. Start small and scale up carefully.

When to use

  • You see conversion failures caused by tiny sliver triangles or broken geometry.
  • You imported scans or CAD conversions with lots of micro-noise.
