Heatmaps
Heatmaps visualize problems that are easy to miss in shaded view: density error, UV stretch, and curvature hotspots.
How to use
- Run a heatmap pass
- Identify hotspots (not the whole mesh)
- Fix locally (often Manual Mode is the right tool)
- Re-run heatmap to confirm the fix
Interpretation
- Density: inconsistent texel resolution
- Stretch: UV distortion risk for baking/texturing
- Curvature: areas likely to lose form during reduction
