Quadify Documentation
Quadify is a family of Blender retopology and asset-preparation tools. The editions now solve different levels of the same problem, so start by choosing the workflow you actually need rather than assuming every mesh should be processed the same way.
Current 3.0 family: Base 3.0.0, Premium 3.0.8, and Pro 3.0.0 are documented here. Ultra is the adaptive automation / decision-engine tier and has its own versioned release history.
The four jobs
| Edition | Primary job | Start here when... |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Smart single-object cleanup | You want to recover useful quads, repair a mesh, or reduce one object. |
| Premium | Production retopology | You need full reconstruction, regions, density control, LODs, or batch processing. |
| Pro | Production asset compilation | You need geometry, UVs, materials, textures, LODs, collision, baking, and Ship Gate validation against a target. |
| Ultra | Adaptive retopology automation | You want deeper geometry classification, method compatibility analysis, confidence scoring, and intelligent strategy routing. |
Smart Convert vs Production Rebuild
This distinction is the most important change in the 3.0 documentation:
- Smart Convert tries to recover useful quad structure already implied by the mesh. It is available in Base and higher tiers. On hard-surface meshes it uses topology-aware diagonal recovery rather than blindly pairing every triangle.
- Production Rebuild creates a new topology layout for dense organic, scan, or generated geometry. It starts in Premium. It is not the same operation as Smart Convert and should not be used just to chase a higher quad percentage on a recoverable hard-surface asset.
A Smart Convert result can deliberately keep residual triangles when forcing them into quads would make the topology worse. A result is not automatically bad just because it is not 100% quads.
Version and platform requirements
| Edition | Current documented release | Blender | Platform note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | 3.0.0 | 5.0+ | Windows, macOS, Linux |
| Premium | 3.0.8 | 4.2+ | No platform restriction in the extension manifest |
| Pro | 3.0.0 | 5.0+ | Current production package: Windows 64-bit |
| Ultra | See installed package / Ultra changelog | 5.0+ | Some solver features may depend on packaged or external binaries |
Basic workflow
- Select the mesh or assets you want to process.
- Run analysis first when the edition provides it.
- Use Smart Convert when the mesh appears to contain recoverable triangulated structure.
- Use Production Rebuild in Premium when dense organic, scan, or generated geometry needs a completely new quad layout.
- Use Asset Compiler in Pro when topology is only one part of preparing the asset for a target engine or platform.
- Use Ultra when you want Quadify to make more of the strategy-selection decisions automatically.
