AI Mesh Report

The AI Mesh Report panel provides a structured before/after analysis of any mesh — particularly AI-generated and scan meshes — showing topology quality, defects found and fixed, UV transfer status, and texture bake access. It is separate from the main Quadify operation flow and can be used independently.

Scanning a Mesh

  1. Select the mesh object.
  2. Open the AI Mesh Report sub-panel in the Quadify Ultra N-panel.
  3. Click Scan Selected Mesh.

The scan runs instantly and shows a pre-operation snapshot: face count, tri percentage, and a list of detected defects — non-manifold edges, zero-area faces, duplicate faces, loose vertices, internal faces. It also detects UV maps and shape keys and warns if a subsequent remesh would destroy them.

Pre-scan Report

Before running Quadify, the panel shows:

  • Total face count and tri % — if tri% is below 5% and no defects are found, the mesh is marked clean
  • Per-defect counts with warning icons
  • UV map detection — "UV maps detected — use Smart mode to preserve" if UVs are present
  • Shape key warning — flagged in red if a full remesh would destroy shape keys

Post-operation Report

After running any Quadify operation on a scanned mesh, the panel updates to show the full before/after comparison:

  • Method used (Smart Convert, QuadriFlow + Transfer, Voxel Remesh, etc.)
  • Topology section — before face count + quad%, after face count + quad%, improvement delta
  • Defects Fixed section — checklist of every defect that was resolved during the operation
  • UV maps section — confirms whether UV maps were transferred or lists the map names
  • Processing time

Texture Fidelity / Bake

When a backup object exists in the scene (created automatically during remesh operations), a Texture Fidelity section appears with the Bake Texture from Original button. This sets up a cycles bake from the original high-poly to the remeshed result and wires the output into the material. See Results Panel → Bake Texture for caveats.

When to Use This Panel

The AI Mesh Report is most useful for:

  • AI-generated meshes (Meshy, Tripo, Rodin, CSM, Luma) — get a defect inventory before deciding which algorithm to use
  • Client-delivered scan data — audit the mesh state before running a pipeline pass
  • Post-operation QA — confirm exactly which defects were resolved and what the topology improvement was
  • Documentation / reporting — the panel data mirrors what would go into a batch diff report

For a full topology heatmap and animatability scoring, use the Topology QA panel instead.
